Welcome to our website!
Thank you for visiting the website of the Stockton-Lodi SNB, founded in August of 2004. Our group meets weekly to socialize, knit, crochet, craft, and share new and fun ideas! We are purely a social gathering; no memberships, dues, or anything "official" required! Bring along your projects and ideas, and have fun with the rest of us!
Please take a moment to look around our website and learn more about our group. And remember to mark your calendar and come hang out with us soon!
World Wide Knit in Public Day
On Saturday, June 13, 2009, we will be hosting a Knit/Crochet in Public event at our usual meeting place, Panera Bread! We will also be offering to teach anyone interested how to knit or crochet. We definitely will need volunteer teachers, but our primary focus is to have people sitting and stitching in public, to show that these fiber arts are still alive and well, and that there is no stereotypical knitter or crocheter. We will also be demonstrating spinning, tatting and weaving. More information will be forthcoming, but for now, here is our flyer promoting the event. (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. Get it here.)
Earth Day 2009
On Sunday, April 19, 2009, our group hosted a booth at Stockton's Earth Day celebration. We featured several displays on ways to recycle various items into yarn, repurposing sweaters and DIY knitting supplies. We created a recycled knitting tote with handmade needles and recycled sweater yarn which was given away in a drawing. We also gave children and adults the opportunity to learn to knit on a loom. Read more about what went on that day, including photos!
